Here’s an oldie, but a goodie
that has been mentioned many
times throughout hobby history …
It’s worth revisiting as it never seems
to fail in creating a chuckle or two …
????? Wonder how he managed that ?????
Dave Bennett appeared in just one major league game on June 12, 1964 with the Phillies. He entered the game in the ninth inning in relief with Philadelphia trailing the Mets 10-3. He gave up one run on a triple and a wild pitch. Ironically, his older brother Dennis — mentioned on the card above — started the game and took the loss. Forever hopeful of returning to the majors, Dave toiled in the minors for another decade.
He appeared on one more card in 1965 … with Topps using the same photo from the year before.
