TOMMY DAVIS APPEARED
ON 8 CONSECUTIVE CARDS
FOR 8 DIFFERENT TEAMS
IN 8 TOPPS SETS

Altogether, the outfielder played for 10 different teams during his 18-year major league career: The Dodgers, Mets, White Sox, Pilots, Astros, A’s, Cubs, Orioles, Angels and Royals. In addition to the eight cards shown above, Davis also appeared in nine other Topps sets.
Davis was a two-time N.L. batting champion in 1962-63. He also hit .400 in the 1963 World Series as Los Angeles swept the Yankees in four games. Two years later, he sustained an injury that hampered him the rest of his career. Fortunately, introduction of the Designated Hitter Rule in the A.L. in 1973 helped prolong his playing time.
